Why Have a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony?

  • You have worked so hard to create an impactful business, it only makes sense to kick it off with an impactful event. A ribbon cutting is a great way to excite the community about what you have to offer, and boost the moral of all of your employees, including yourself. As you develop the marketing and advertising for you grand opening, we will help to promote your business by sharing it on our own platforms, and thereby increase your exposure to the public.
  • In many ways, your new business is a gift to the community. Just as one would cut ribbons off a giftbox given on a holiday, it makes sense to cut the ribbon on your gift. The ribbon cutting ceremony is also an excellent opportunity to show your appreciation for all those who have helped you develop your business along the way.
  • As we partner with you to invite as many people as possible to your grand opening, you will not only get exposure to potential future customers, you will also get valuable networking opportunities as fellow business owners attend your event.

Who may request a Ribbon Cutting?

  • Ribbon Cuttings are a benefit exclusively for members of the Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce. There is no fee for a ribbon cutting ceremony, as it is part of chamber membership. We welcome all businesses to join the chamber and enjoy this benefit.

What you can expect from the Chamber

We will:

  • Provide the giant ceremonial scissors
  • Provide the ribbon
  • Provide a cake and appropriate utensils, plates, etc.
  • Promote and post photos of the event on social media, our website, and in our Business Resource Center
  • Promote the event in the newsletter to all Chamber Members
  • Invite the Board and Ambassadors of the Chamber to attend (attendance varies based on schedules)
  • Invite city elected officials to attend (Due to the large number of homebased businesses in Eagle Mountain, this is not available for our homebased members)

Sample Sequence of Events

  • Welcome Guests and acknowledge any elected officials, chamber ambassadors/board members, and any other significant individuals
  • Share information about your business such as a brief history and your vision moving forward
  • Congratulatory remarks by the Mayor and/or the Chamber President
  • Cut the ribbon
  • Provide tours, refreshments/food, drawings, novelty items, etc.
